Doing my part for the President
I am going to get my flu shot this afternoon. Lord help me, but I hate needles. I must really love Julia or something to put myself through this (I REALLY HATE needles)...
calliope, it's old people, sick people, people with depressed immune systems, people who spend a lot of time with any of the above. so, trista spends a lot of time with julia, therefore she should get one, and i'm getting one because one of my meds stomps all over my immune system. wheee!
Yup. Calliope, you should probably go get one, not only because hopefully you will be pregnant by the end of flu season, but because you take care of your GM.
Really, it's not so bad. My arm's only swollen to 1/4 of it's normal size.
Just kidding about the swollen part. It does ache, though. ooops, sorry Liza.
I was watching a news clip on flu shots this morning and when I saw the size of that needle, I almost passed out... and I'm not usually needle-phobic! You really must love that kid!
I didn't look at the needle, I never saw it. I wouldn't have been able to do it even with all my love for Julia if I had seen it. But the hole it left...
Theyâre adorable, no? I bet you know a baby that they would look good on. Why donât you click on the picture and buy oneâ¦

I am so there with you. Ugh!
And thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for not going into any of the gory details about the procedure. :)
so does *everybody* have to get this done? I thought it was a sort of old people & sick people thing.
I don't want a shot!

And the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology specifically recommends that pregnant women get them. :(
They used to only recommend them for women at least 12 weeks pregnant, but now the recommendation is for all pregnant women.
