What I don't understand

Is the compulsion some people feel to go to another person's blog and leave nasty comments. Why do this? If you disagree so much with what someone has said why not just leave the site and never return? If you want to point out what you think is a flaw in their argument or a thinking error, fine. Once. When they respond that they're not changing their mind, why keep pushing it? Why get nastier? Why be upset? It's their site, it has nothing to do with you. You have the power to put it out of your life. Heck, if it bothers you that much, you can blog on your own site your reaction.

I just don't get it. Can someone explain it to me?

Read or Post a Comment

I know of a guy in Texas, in his late-40s, who attacked me and a couple of my posters over the course of a week or so, calling us 'sick' and all sorts of other, worse names. To add to the offense, he couldn't spell. Eventually, after deleting his comments - I don't tolerate ad hominem attacks - he stopped. But I know from my site stats that he still sits on my blog all day, refreshing a dozen times. It creeps me out a little, but as long as he's quiet, I'm fine.

Weirder thing is, there's another guy, also in his 40s, who has my link on his blog and checks in somewhat often. He's never commented. He claims on his blog he's from Indianapolis, but the stats just don't match up. Weird.

Bottom line: a mean but quiet blog reader is a tolerated blog reader.

I agree Trista. If I don't like someones views I won't read there blog. I mean it is the owners blog to write what they want. But, it was a full moon yesterday.

Okay, found this today and it might offer some illumination on the topic...

Too true, my friend. I don't really understand this either. I've had it happen only once, and mostly I thought the guy was just a creep for saying what he did.
